+ PRSVRE Is Hiring! Browse Through Our Jobs 👔
Yesterday was the OUA, today is the Canada West.
We’re a little under two weeks away from the start of the Canada West football season, and that means we have to set aside some time to quickly chat through every Canada West program.
In the aways unpredictable six-team conference, where does your favourite program currently sit?
Attempting to go back-to-back?
On the brink?
Conference dark horse?
Rebuilding?
Lets chat through some well-known insights, while asking some high-level questions.
Here’s one statement along with a few questions about every Canada West football team as they enter the 2024 season.
1. Alberta Golden Bears
Statement: 1 minute away. They were so close.
Team Questions: Can the Alberta Golden Bears get back to within reach of winning a Hardy Cup? Or was 2023 just a 1-year window for this program?
2. Calgary Dinos
Statement: One can’t help but believe that the way this program’s season ended in 2023 has leave a bad taste in their mouth that they want to get rid of.
Team Question: Is this the dark horse team that can win the Hardy Cup?
3. Manitoba Bisons
Statement: Every season the Bisons are a favourite to win the Canada West, and every season something goes wrong.
Team Question: The word potential has been tossed around with team now for the last 4 seasons. Can Manitoba actually cash in on all of their potential in 2024?
4. Regina Rams
Statement: Starting from the bottom.
Player Question: He impressed many at East-West - Is Dolani Robinson one of the top defensive backs in the country?
5. Saskatchewan Huskies
Statement: The ability to protect the ball will make or break this team.
Team Question: With the rise of UBC, Alberta, and even Calgary - who managed to defeat the Huskies in 2023 - has Saskatchewan’s dominance over the Canada West conference officially come to end for the time being?
Player Question: He’s shown flashes, but can Anton Amundrud become the elite quarterback that the Huskies need him to be?
6. UBC Thunderbirds
Statement: It’s hard to pinpoint any reasons as to why this team can’t get back to the Hardy Cup at the very least.
Player Questions: Does Garrett Rooker win Canada West MVP?
Team Question: Does the UBC-NFL door continue to remain open through 2024? And if so, who’s next?
